MOGADISHU — Somalia’s Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali Dhaay received Sudan’s ambassador to Somalia, Abdul Rahman Khalil Ahmed Effendi, at the Foreign Ministry in Mogadishu, where the two officials discussed regional developments and bilateral relations.
The meeting included an exchange of views on developments affecting the region, while both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining and strengthening cooperation between Somalia and Sudan.
The talks come as Sudan continues to grapple with a devastating conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, while Somalia faces its own security and political challenges in the Horn of Africa.
Somalia and Sudan have longstanding diplomatic ties and have maintained cooperation on political, economic and regional issues. Muqdisho has also expressed support for Sudan’s stability and territorial integrity in its engagement with regional and international partners.
