MOGADISHU, Somalia — Former Somali Prime Minister and presidential hopeful Abdi Farah Shirdon Saaid has made a high-profile return to the capital Mogadishu on Tuesday with a warm reception, marking a significant moment in the lead-up to Somalia anticipated elections.
He was greeted at the airport by a delegation of federal lawmakers, prominent political figures, women leaders, and youth representatives — signaling growing momentum around his candidacy.

“We must begin a new chapter — one defined by unity, progress, justice, and the rule of law. Somalia deserves no less,” he declared.
