BAIDOA, Somalia – In a speech marking the 129th anniversary of the Adwa Victory, South West State President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen emphasized the deep-rooted historical and cultural ties between Somalia and Ethiopia.
The event, held in Baidoa on Monday, celebrated Ethiopia’s historic triumph over colonial forces while underscoring the longstanding relationship between the two neighboring nations.
During his address, President Laftagareen reaffirmed the fraternal bond between Somalia and Ethiopia, highlighting mutual respect and cooperation as the foundation of their diplomatic relations.
“Ethiopia and Somalia are two brotherly countries,” he stated, emphasizing the shared history and interconnected destinies of both nations.
The regional leader further expressed his administration’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, particularly between the South West State of Somalia and Ethiopia.
He outlined plans to enhance collaboration across various sectors, signaling a renewed effort to deepen economic, security, and cultural ties.
