Somalia, Algeria Reaffirm Support for Palestinian Cause in High-Level Talks

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, Abdisalam Dhaay, held a high-level meeting with Algerian Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui in Algiers to explore ways of deepening relations between the two nations.

According to a statement from the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation across political, economic, and security fields.

The two leaders also exchanged views on pressing regional and international matters, with particular emphasis on the Palestinian cause, reaffirming their countries’ shared commitment to supporting just and lasting peace in the Middle East.

Minister Dhaay provided an update on Somalia’s ongoing efforts to consolidate stability and security in the Horn of Africa, outlining initiatives aimed at fostering development and regional cooperation.

Both sides agreed to continue strengthening their partnership to advance peace, security, and sustainable development for their peoples and the wider region.

The meeting reflects the growing momentum in Somalia–Algeria relations, built on mutual respect, shared values, and a commitment to addressing common challenges.
