DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania — Somalia’s Ambassador to Tanzania and the East African Community, Ilyas Ali Hassan, on Wednesday met with Sweden’s Ambassador to Tanzania, Charlotta Ozaki Macias, to discuss bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.
The meeting focused on strengthening Somalia–Sweden cooperation, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to multilateralism, respect for international law, and constructive diplomatic engagement.
The ambassadors also exchanged views on regional and international developments, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development in the Horn of Africa and the East African region.
They further highlighted the need to enhance collaboration in areas such as governance, humanitarian assistance, development cooperation, and regional security, reaffirming their shared interest in advancing long-term stability and prosperity.
Both diplomats expressed readiness to deepen bilateral ties and continue dialogue on issues of common concern, reflecting the enduring partnership between Somalia and Sweden.
