MOGADISHU — Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister Salah Jama held talks with Indonesia’s Ambassador to Somalia, T.B.H. Witjaksono Adji, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in areas including human capital development, trade and economic partnerships.
Jama said the meeting focused on opportunities to deepen collaboration between the two countries and build stronger ties across multiple sectors.
The discussions come as Somalia seeks to broaden international partnerships aimed at supporting economic growth, skills development and investment opportunities.
Indonesia and Somalia have maintained diplomatic relations for decades, with cooperation extending through areas such as education, capacity building, trade and development. Both countries are members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and have engaged through broader South-South cooperation initiatives.
The meeting reflects Mogadishu’s ongoing efforts to strengthen economic and diplomatic links with Asian partners as Somalia works to attract investment and enhance development cooperation.
