ANKARA, Turkey — Somalia’s ambassador to Türkiye, Fathudin Ospite, held talks in Ankara with Dr. Malik Mousli, the newly appointed representative of the Arab League, focusing on strengthening coordination between Mogadishu and the Cairo-based organization.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance cooperation and communication between Somalia and the Arab League, with the Somali envoy expressing support for Mousli’s new role and wishing him success during his tenure.
Ambassador Ospite reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to maintaining close consultations and joint efforts with the Arab League to advance shared priorities.
Somalia is a founding member of the Arab League and has regularly engaged with the organization on issues including regional stability, political cooperation, economic development and humanitarian affairs.
The talks come as Somalia continues to strengthen its diplomatic engagement with Arab and African institutions while seeking greater cooperation on security, development and regional challenges.
