MOGADISHU, Somalia — Somalia’s Investment Agency Director-General, Faisal Aden Hassan, has met a delegation from Zain-al-Abdin Group Africa Limited to discuss potential investment opportunities in Somalia, with a focus on fisheries, the blue economy, agriculture and livestock.

The delegation, led by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ashraf Omran, is visiting Somalia to explore sectors with the potential to support economic growth, create jobs and attract private-sector investment.

During the meeting, the Somalia Investment Agency outlined its role in connecting the visiting investors with government institutions and local businesses, providing information on the country’s investment environment and helping identify and assess potential projects.

The discussions form part of the agency’s broader efforts to attract international investors, strengthen commercial partnerships and promote the sustainable use of Somalia’s natural resources.

Investment in fisheries, agriculture and livestock could create opportunities for local businesses, expand economic activity and generate employment, provided projects are supported by appropriate infrastructure, financing and effective regulatory frameworks.

The meeting signals continued efforts by Somalia to promote its investment potential and build partnerships that can contribute to long-term economic development.
